Meet the Coaches
Our experienced coaching and fitness team work closely together in delivering a fun and competitive environment at the club. All of our team has played sports to a high level, aiding in letting kids and adults discover their way through playing the game, this has proved very successful in helping us to produce national champions and many county champions. Also inspiring thousand of adults and children to play the great game of tennis whether socially or competitively.
Level 5 Performance Coach
MTA Director of Tennis
Adrian has been coaching for 25 years based at our Maidstone Club, he has coached the girls 18/Under County cup team for 8 years, 4 National Champions and a county champion in every junior age group boys and girls. He currently coaches the ladies over/50's County Team.
Adrian Played collegiate Tennis for 4 years in South Carolina and competed in satellites in Spain and France. he now plays on the senior tour winning the 45's Czech open in 2014, and is 2 time winner of Kent 45's singles and doubles champion and represents the county.

Level 3 Club Coach
Carl started training with MTA from the age of 6, he played Junior Tournaments around Kent and worked as a Junior helper. He joined MTA as an apprentice at the age of 18.
Carl coaches Juniors and Adults, he playes for Freedom Leisure in the Tennis Teams.
Carl is a black belt in Karate and Kickboxing and coaches kickboxing to Juniors.
He is a keen footballer and plays 3 times a week.
Level 3 Accredited Plus Coach
Alex has recently joined the team, he previously worked as Head Coach at SETennis Academy.
He is really enjoying his time working for MTA. Along with his work schedule Alex continues to improve his own game and competes on a regular basis.
Currently, Alex plays in a successful mens division 1 Aegon Team, he also captains teams.
Level 2 Coach
LTA Level 2 coach, soon to be completing Level 3. Sport and Exercise Science first class honours graduate from Loughborough University.
Regularly competed for the University and was second team captain. Continues to compete in British Tour events with a LTA rating of 1.2, previously ranked top 100 nationally and represents Kent Women’s at County Cup.
Started playing tennis at MTA 17 years ago at age 4.
BTCA Qualified Coach
Tennis Coach, First Aid Qualified
Played at MTA from the age of 5 where I represented club and county.
Biggest achievement, representing Kent in the U14/18’s county cup team and reaching Road to Wimbledon finals. Reached top 50 nationally as a junior.
Pursued a tennis scholarship at Georgia Southwestern State University to complete a degree in Business management. Captained the team in final year and hold the university record for most career doubles wins.
We have the best coaches in the county who bring their postive, enthusiastic energy to the court. I wish i had had MTA academy when i was growing up.. Its a pleasure to be part of. The Jane Gentle, MTA tennis player
